Updating or modifying your shared ownership property

You’re free to decorate your home as you wish, but you must get approval before making major changes.

Applying for permission to make alterations

If you’d like to make changes to your shared ownership home, you will need to complete an alterations request form via MTDH Management or Pinnacle, providing as much detail as possible about the proposed works. You can also upload photos or plans to support your application.

Once we receive your request, a member of our team will contact you if we need any further details or supporting documents. In some cases, an administration fee may apply, and we’ll let you know if that’s the case.

After we’ve received all the necessary information, we’ll review your application – this process typically takes around ten working days. Please note that we can’t approve any works that would breach your lease or the conditions set out in your land transfer. Occasionally, we may also need to obtain consent from the original developer, which could extend the response time.

We’ll then confirm our decision in writing. If your request is approved, formal consent will be issued once any applicable fees have been paid.
